Chemical Processing, ETP & STP

Aggressive media, abrasive slurries and effluent lines that destroy ordinary meters.

Effluent and chemical process lines are where ordinary flow meters fail. Anything with a rotor jams on suspended solids. Anything with the wrong wetted material is consumed by the fluid it is measuring.

Electromagnetic measurement removes the mechanical element entirely: a magnetic field across the pipe, electrodes reading the voltage the moving liquid induces, and nothing in the flow path to obstruct or wear. Liner and electrode materials are then chosen for the chemistry rather than assumed.

Frequently asked questions

Can a flow meter handle slurry and suspended solids?

An electromagnetic flow meter can. It measures using a magnetic field rather than a mechanical element, so there is nothing in the flow path for solids to jam or abrade. Accumax electromagnetic meters are specified for water, acids, alkalis, pulps and slurries.

What line sizes are available for effluent flow measurement?

Accumax electromagnetic flow meters are available from 15 NB to 350 NB, covering dosing lines through to main effluent discharge on a single site.
